At Nationwide Delivery Systems, we want you to understand all of your shipping options. We are willing to ship almost anything, but depending on what your items are, you may find that it is more cost effective for you to use another shipping method. We specialize in large, fragile items. So, if you have a 100 lb. package, an old bicycle, or a couple of mattresses to ship, you may want to choose another shipping method. However, if you need assistance with shipping pianos, shipping furniture, shipping antiques or other large item shipping, we may be the right company for you. What is the Difference?
Nationwide Delivery Systems vs. Freight Forwarders

Nationwide Delivery Systems and Freight Forwarders both provide large item shipping. 

The big difference is how they go about it. 

At Nationwide Delivery Systems, all Items are blanket wrapped and shrink wrapped before being brought to our company warehouse. We can ensure the safe handling of your items because they are never transported or loaded by a third party; only Nationwide Delivery Systems packers or certified partners will handle your items. 

Our well-trained packers never use forklifts on any items because, although they make loading and unloading faster, they are not as safe. Forklifts and fragile items never go well together. We move a chest of drawers the same way we move a $100,000 piano: always by hand and always door-to-door.

At best, Freight Forwarders will build a cardboard or wooden box around your item and send it on its way. During the trip, it may travel through multiple warehouses, all owned by different companies, and will be moved using a forklift. Quality control over the moving process is more difficult to maintain, because the intermediate movers do not have to answer to the customer when a damaged item arrives. 

There are many freight forwarding companies out there and some are better than others. They may be the best choice for the large items you need to ship, however they are not always the best choice for valuable and fragile items.

Nationwide Delivery Systems and Moving Companies also both provide large item shipping. 

At Nationwide Delivery Systems, we specialize in “Small Shipments” rather than the “Whole House Moves” that the moving companies prefer. As in most large industries, some moving companies are better than others. The better ones may even be as capable as Nationwide in antique shipping, piano shipping and moving other fragile and valuable items. However, the question is, will they take your small shipment or single item?

As a result of the shipping minimums required by most home movers, a significant percentage of our business is from referrals from moving companies. They find that it is better for business to refer our services than to leave potential future “whole house move” customers without an answer.
